Carol A. Legan

Carol A. Legan, 86, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday May 2, 2023 at Silver Oaks Health Center. She was born January 4, 1937 in Columbus, the only daughter of Don and Nedra (Daily) Cummins. She married Robert E. Legan on April 7, 1957 and he preceded her in death on February 24, 2015.
Carol was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and horseback riding. She loved doting on her pets.
Memorial services will be held on Monday May 8, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Carter officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon Monday until the service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carol to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
Carol is survived by her son, Jeffrey Thomas Legan; granddaughter, Mia (Jerry) Hounshell; great-grandchildren, Tylor Ogle and Danyel Ogle; brothers, David Cummins, Donovan Gerald “Jerry” (Kay) Cummins and Larry (Carol) Cummins and several nieces and nephews.
