Mariagnes Meyer, 94, of Columbus, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. She was born February 16, 1929, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of Oscar and Elnora (Burbrink) Schnieder. She married Herbert Theodore Meyer on February 20, 1949, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2002. Mariagnes was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church – White Creek and had been active in the Ladies’ Aid and Senior League of the church. She also was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She enjoyed reading and socializing with her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:15 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church – White Creek with Pastors Channing Kearney and Matthew Jung officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest with her husband and many family members in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the White Creek Lutheran Church Foundation or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Mariagnes is survived by her 4 sons and their wives, Glen (Wanda) Meyer, Steve (Cindy) Meyer, Terry (Connie) Meyer, and Wayne (Melanie) Meyer;10 grandchildren, Vickie (Scott) Hildreth, Cathy Bontrager, Brad (Laura) Meyer, Chris (Carissa) Meyer, Brian (Anna) Meyer, Angie (Michael) Harris, Jessica (Rick) Morphew, Matthew (Lorna) Meyer, Kevin (Katie) Meyer and Stephanie (Travis) Quillen; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; daughter-in-law, Linda Meyer; grandson-in-law, Shane Bontrager, and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Meyer.   1. So sorry to here about Marys passing. She has a large family of relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. I know I will miss her. She was a wonderful lady and a great mom and grandma to her family.

  3. Great lady. Never heard her say anything bad about anyone. I remember your mom from before I was old enough to go. My mother would take me with her while in the cafeteria. I had a ball. So very sorry for you loss.
