Mark “Andy” Anderson, 67, of Bloomington, died July 29, 2023, at Brown County Health and Living in Nashville, Indiana. Andy was born February 7, 1956, to the late James and Dorothy Shirm Anderson in South Bend, Indiana. Andy lived on Lake Lemon in Unionville, behind the Port Hole Inn. Most know him from several years as a bartender and bar manager at the famous Jake's and Yogi's Bar & Grill in Bloomington. He enjoyed the work of indoor hydroponics and was employed at Worms Way of Bloomington after leaving Yogi's Bar & Grill. He was free-spirited, honest, loved having a good time, spending time on the water with his golden retrievers, carpentry and adored becoming a grandfather. Andy was also a very talented musician who sang and played the guitar.
Andy is survived by his daughter Tori Anderson of Columbus; his grandson Knox Osterman; his life partner Peggy Albers, and his sister Laura Anderson. In keeping with Andy's wishes, cremation was chosen, and a gathering of family and friends to remember his life is scheduled at the Port Hole Inn on September 10th, 2023, beginning at 11:00 am. All friends, family & past co-workers are welcome to attend.

Andy’s home on Lake Lemon was behind the Porthole, but it also was next door to the Bloomington Yacht Club. He was a kind and generous guy, and I remember one day at the club when my car wouldn’t start. Andy saw I was having trouble and came over to help. We worked on it until he suggested I call AAA. He had four beautiful Golden Retrievers and they sometimes came over to visit. They would sit and pose. I loved his dogs and I loved his taste in music – Beatles and Eagles. Andy was a great neighbor – always kind and never expecting anything in return. -Jon Dilts
Andy and I crossed paths at Wormsway. I was responsible for training Andy from day 1. As he grew in years of service and title changes, I also felt proud of Andy and his career at wormsway. I would tease him that his success was due to my stellar training. Rest in peace my friend.

I am heartbroken to learn of Andy’s passing. I met Andy in 1975 as we were both working for Gladieux Food Service filling and repairing vending machines on the Indiana Toll Road. Andy quickly became a very good friend as we had a lot in common including our taste in music and sense of humor. I went with him when he purchased his first “really nice” stereo. After setting it up he was excited to play a song for me from a guy he had been following for awhile but had just made it big – Bruce Springsteen and Born to Run. I know he loved the music of James Taylor so much so that his CB handle was “Walking Man.” Andy was always so much fun to be around and a very caring man. Although we lost touch after just a few short years, the memories of our shared times will last forever. I was truly blessed to have Andy as a friend and I know he will be missed by many. Rest well my friend.
