Margie Shuler, 85, of Columbus, died at 9:12 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023 at her home. Margie was born January 6, 1938, in Austin, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph and Flora Jane Harbold Trabue. She married Fred Shuler. Margie was a member for many years at Shiloh Baptist Church. She loved life cooking, cleaning, and baking for her family. She enjoyed canning and being a homemaker. Margie loved to go to Florida and see the ocean. In her leisure time, she watched reality TV. She was a devoted Christian Lady and woman of Faith. She leaves behind a loving husband. The funeral will be at 12:00 noon, Thursday, September 7, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Franklin. Calling will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Survivors include her husband, daughter, Cindy (Kenny) Coy of Columbus; siblings, Edward (Edna) Trabue, David (Brenda) Trabue, Mark Trabue, and Judy (Mike) Miner, all of Austin, Indiana; a grandson, Blake Nichols, of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Scott Edward Shuler. Arrangements entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

  1. The Shuler’s were our neighbor when I was growing up. Margie often took care of my sister and I when our grandmother was in the hospital. Margie was a wonderful person and her family will always hold a special place in my thoughts.
