David Elton Dooley
April 3, 1957 ~ October 1, 2023
David Elton Dooley, 66, of Elizabethtown, was called home at 5:00 p.m. on October 1st, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
He was born April 3rd, 1957 in Seymour, the son of Billy and Ruth (Plummer) Dooley. He married Vicky Sanders on February 5th, 1994.
David was a passionate person who enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting; especially for geodes and mushrooms. He was an avid Ford truck fan, who loved to travel especially to Florida. David enjoyed amusement parks and Rock ‘n’ Roll; his favorite artist was Alice Cooper. While enjoying a big glass of sweet tea, he would love to watch old T.V. shows like the Sopranos and Law & Order. David was also a big fan of old westerns and mafia movies. In his free time, he would rebuild engines and tinker in the garage. During his time in the Navy, David spent 4 years in Italy where he learned how to cook delicious Italian food, and became a big fan of spaghetti. Depending on the occasion, David could be the sweetest teddy bear or the biggest grizzly bear, but he would always help anyone in need. He was a caring person who loved everyone. David was a loving father, spouse, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
