Leroy Leonard

Leroy Leonard, 78, of Columbus, passed away on October 20, 2023, at his home. Leroy was born April 3, 1945, in Columbus, the son of Henry and Myrtle Trobaugh Leonard. He retired from Golden Foundry after many years of service. Leroy enjoyed listening to country music, but his real love was fishing. Survivors include his children, Leroy Leonard II and Tony Wayne Leonard; stepchildren, Greg Richey, Sharon (Samuel) Wasmuth, and Tina (Robert) Giles all of Columbus; grandchildren Ashley Nicole Leonard, Leroy (Staci) Leonard III, and Jessica Renea Leonard; a brother David (Wilma) Leonard of Columbus; as well as a sister Denio Johnson of Columbus, and great-grandchildren, Lukas Christian, Wyatt Leonard, and Henry Leonard, of Hope, and Macie Ann, of Kentucky. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Myrtle Leonard; wife Katheryn Sue Campbell Leonard on May 31, 2023; and brothers Junior, Willard, and Willie Leonard. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at The Jewell–Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Leonard officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services on Tuesday. Leroy will be laid to rest next to his wife in Garland Brook Cemetery.
