Richard Poole

Richard Poole Jr., 76, of Columbus, died at 11:44 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2023 at his home. Richard was born February 15, 1947 in Seymour, the son of Richard Samuel and Aline Martha Rose Poole. He married Diana Mae Lucas on March 19, 1976. She survives. He grew up in Holton, Indiana. Richard loved to go fishing, and he enjoyed hunting deer. He was a big fan of racing, especially dirt track racing. He worked for Costco in the 60’s and 70’s. Richard was a Mason and worked for Steve Alesandro Construction and W. Ness Masonry of Columbus. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be greatly missed. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on November 1, 2023, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Leonard officiating. Calling will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home to help with final expenses. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Crum, of Columbus; a son, Robert Poole of Seymour; brothers, Kenneth Poole, of Scipio, and Jim Poole, of Elizabethtown; Sisters, Joyce Waggoner, of North Vernon, and Penny Fear, of Elizabethtown; 10 grandchildren; Nieces, Chiann Clemenz, Jessica Fear, and Brittney Powers; Nephews, Greg Moore, Christopher Fear, Jacob Fear, Dustin Garcia, Kenny Poole, Justin Poole, Richard Poole III, Joshua Poole, and Rocky Ryan; and several great nieces and nephews.
