Christina J. Dowden, 53, of Columbus, passed away at 8:36 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Christina was born on April 21, 1970 in Columbus, IN to Thomas R. Crouch and Penny S. Bryant Crouch. She married Carl V. Dowden in 1994. Christina was employed at Murphy USA. She loved fishing, boating and mostly spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Monte Stetler officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home to help with final expenses. Survivors include her husband, Carl V. Dowden; son, Joshua Streeval of Columbus, IN; parents, Thomas R. and Penny S. Crouch of Columbus, IN; brothers, Thomas D. and Shannon R. Crouch both of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Hayleigh and Krislynn Jones, Bentley and Brylee Streeval and several nieces and nephews. Christina was preceded in death by son, Bryan E. Streeval; sister, Ginger Ann Crouch

It hurts me everyday that you will never walk into the front door again. All I do is cry everyday thinking about you laying on that bed at the hospital. I wish God would have taken me instead of you. You had so much to live for. As for myself I didn’t. I have no kids and I really don’t have a life. So God should have chosen me..
