Douglas ‘Jay’ Barnes of Columbus, Indiana passed peacefully from this life, on November 29, 2023, at the age of 65. Born June 16, 1958, Jay was the son of George and Helen Barnes, of Taylorsville, Indiana.
Jay enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Jay retired from Cosco after 20 years.
Jay is preceded in death by his loving daughter, Amberly Barnes, and his parents.
He is survived by daughters, Melissa (Robert) Jeffries of North Vernon, and Angelica Alese Rogers; a son, Marcus (Marissa) Barnes of Columbus, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a sister and a brother.
There will be a graveside gathering of service on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Garland Brook Cemetery.
