Donald "Donnie" Hignite

Donald “Donnie” Hignite, 60, of Columbus, died at 7:10 a.m. on January 1st, 2024 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
He was born April 20, 1963, in Columbus, the son of Mack and Wavel (Bruner) Hignite.
Donnie was an avid outdoorsman, who loved all animals despite telling everyone he hated them. He also had a love-hate relationship with sports. He loved IU basketball and Notre Dame football, he especially loved and enjoyed being at home or on any type of ball field.
Survivors include mother, Wavel Hignite; son, Connor Hignite; daughter, Peyton Hignite both of Columbus; sister, Karen Hignite of Franklin; and beloved dogs, Gerzie, Dixie, and Belle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Hignite and brother Michael Hignite.
Per Donnie’s request, cremation was chosen.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

Divine Peace Bouquet was purchased for the family of Donald “Donnie” Hignite.
I’m sure gonna miss talking with him on fb. We hadn’t talked in a while. But when we did talk it was like it was yesterday. He liked Notea Dame football like my husband. I am going to miss seeing his post about his kids. And his life in general. We all grew up together going to grandma Idas house. And we would see each other out and just hang together.
