Brenda Sue Hadley, 69, of Columbus, died at 6:24 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Hickory Creek of Scottsburg.
Brenda was born on October 3, 1954, the daughter of Roy Corbit and Ella Tays Foster. She later married Larry Dean Hadley on September 8, 1989. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2020.
Brenda was a lifelong resident of the Columbus area. In June of 2024, she would have worked at Kroger’s in Columbus for 26 years. A delightful and very quiet lady, Brenda was always willing to help her friends and family. She enjoyed watching Westerns. She was very passionate about her children and grandchildren. She often referred to herself as a Christian of the Heart. A wonderful mom, and grandmother, she will be greatly missed.
The funeral will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 20204 at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor James Carmichael and Assistant Pastor Daniel Hughes officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The burial will take place at a later date in Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St Judes Children’s Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children.
Survivors include a daughter, Ella (Daniel) Hughes, of Scottsburg; a son, Brian (Michelle) Foster, of Hope; brothers, Ricky (Norma) Foster of Hartsville, and Johnny Foster, of Columbus; grandchildren, Nathan (Sarah Vergara) Foster, Casey Foster, Joseph Foster, Samantha Hughes and Jeremiah Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; and her siblings, Charles Marson Foster, Tamage Dewitt Foster, Leroy Foster, Betty Lou Kirk, and Julie Foster.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
