Alfreda May Walker

Alfreda May Zigler Walker, 87, of Columbus, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born April 18, 1936, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of Alfred J. and Edna May (Powell) Cline.
Alfreda was a member of the East Columbus United Methodist Church. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed baking and gardening. She felt her greatest role in life was being the caretaker of her family.
Alfreda married Dale Zigler and to this union were born 3 sons; Mark (Myra) Zigler, David (Lisa Basham) Zigler, and Morris Zigler. Dale preceded her in death in 1994. She married Gerald Walker in 2008 and welcomed his daughters, and son into her family including, Ron (Sonja) Walker, Renita (Max) Bettner, Regina (Gerald) Tekulve, and Rhonda Hoffman (deceased). Alfreda is also survived by her grandchildren, Kim Mobley, Andrea (Denver) Sparkman, Audrea (Simon) Ngari and Megan (Michael) Doyle; great-grandchildren, Micah and Rachel Mobley, Dale Sparkman, Elijah Ngari, Austin and Chase Doyle along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Dale; her brother, Charles Cline; her sister Ila Jean Ritchey and her stepdaughter, Rhonda Hoffman.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Walker officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside Dale in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends are invited to a time of visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Alfreda may be made to the Old Union Church.

Alfreda was a great lady.
So Sorry to hear of her passing😢my mom was 2 rooms down from her at silver oaks .
I would visit her when I went to see Mom several times.
Mom lives with me now and just found out she has cancer and I’m her care taker.
