JoAnn R. Fox

JoAnn R. Fox, 96, of Columbus, passed away February 24, 2024.
JoAnn was born December 21, 1927 in Anderson, the daughter of Joseph and Helen Rittman Sims. She married Marion D. Fox on February 16, 1947.
JoAnn was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, and was previously employed as a secretary at Columbus North High School Building Trades Department, as well as a sales associate for Brock’s Appliance and Bruning’s Specialty Shop. She enjoyed reading, singing, as well as playing cards and board games with her family. When she was younger, JoAnn also enjoyed ceramics and camping with her husband.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Wednesday. JoAnn will be laid to rest beside her husband Marion at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Foundation or to the donor’s choice of charities.
JoAnn is survived by her children Roger D. (Betty) Fox, Randall L. (Margie) Fox, and Sharon J. (Thomas) Thixton all of Columbus, Michael S. (Margie) Fox of Franklin, and Keith A. (Sandy) Fox of Columbus; grandchildren Kelley Gonsior, Gregory Fox, Emily Fox, Justin Fox, David Brewer, Christy Shaw, Tammy Brewer, Nancy Owens, Tad Brewer, Zachary Whisman, Chelsie Redicker, Jesse Wood, Jon Wood, and Scott Wood; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marion on October 27, 1997; a son Kevin Lynn Fox; as well as a granddaughter Heather Ketchum.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of JoAnn. I liked JoAnn Fox very much, as did my mother. To me she was a big ray of sunshine every time I saw her. She will be missed for sure. May God bless you and give you peace in this very difficult time.
