Suzanne Marie Smock, 77, was born May 17, 1947, in Indianapolis Indiana to Warren Dale Smock and Margaret Mary Burns Smock. Suzanne entered Eternal Life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Indianapolis Indiana on July 5, 2024. She was a former member of Beech Grove Methodist and Edgewood Methodist Churches in Indianapolis. She was a 1965 graduate of Southport High School in Indianapolis, and Ball State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Social Science and Library Science. She was employed as a school librarian in Huntington and Washington Indiana, and in business at Graham Electronics, General Aviation Electronics, Indianapolis Life Insurance Company, and the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis for 19 years until her retirement. She was active in Girl Scouts and the school newspapers as a youth, and as a student assistant at the Indiana State Library. She was a long-time active member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution where she was a charter member and served in several offices in the Samuel Bryan Chapter in Beech Grove Indiana, the National Society Daughters of the Union, the Southport High School Alumni Association, the Eiteljorg Museum, the Beech Grove Promoters Club, and the Beech Grove Comprehensive Drug-Free Coalition serving as executive board secretary. She enjoyed arts and crafts, scrapbooking, genealogy research, collecting dishes and glassware, reading, and traveling. She especially enjoyed visiting and spending time with family, friends, and her dog Finn. Survivors include a brother Dale (Beth) Smock of Dade City Florida, sister Judith (Terry) Braly of Johnson City Tennessee, niece Amanda (Jean) Milesi of Greenwood Indiana, nephew Brian (Christina) Smock of Wesley Chapel Florida, nephews Nathaniel Postlewaite and Drew Postlewaite of Johnson City Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, and older brother David. Funeral Arrangements are being made with Jewell-Rittman Funeral Home in Columbus Indiana. A private service will be held followed by burial at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus Indiana. A public memorial service in the Indianapolis south side is under consideration. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eiteljorg Museum, Beech Grove CDFC, or the Samuel Bryan Chapter NSDAR.
