Mildred Lois "Millie" Zelit Hult

Mildred Lois “Millie” Zelit Hult was born April 6th, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Max and Rose Zelit. Millie was an only child who wanted nothing more than to own a doll as a child. She spent her adult life collecting dolls and making her living space cozy and pretty. She married Eric Raymond Hult in 1951. They had two children, Adele, and Robert. Millie and Eric were business owners in the northwest Indiana area where they sold fabric and notions in three different locations. Millie took great pride in designing bridal fashion and creating with luxury fabrics. Her brush with fame came when a Gary family came into her store for fabric to create costumes for their talented children--the Jackson Five. Millie and Eric moved to Columbus, IN in 2003. Millie is probably best known to Columbus residents for her work at Hallmark in the former Fair Oaks Mall. She loved her own ornament collection and never missed an opportunity to encourage similar collections for her customers. Millie passed away peacefully at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana on August 4th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009. Survivors include her children Adele Fine (William) and Bob Hult (Julie). She was blessed with seven grandchildren Rachel Guajardo (Marcus), Michael Hult (Maria), Sarah O’Brien, Elizabeth McCullom (Clark), Rebecca Roelfs (Scott), Megan Hult, David Hult (Brittany); and seventeen great-grandchildren: Dylan, Jake, Josh, Maddie, Hannah, Lucas, Lexie, Molly, Bella, Macey, Maddox, Carter, Charlotte, Salvador, Nikolai, Coraline and Mayleigh. The family plans to gather for a private celebration at a later date. In lieu of flowers and to honor the excellent care Millie received, Adele and Bob would like memorial donations to be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
