April 9, 1933 ~ September 10, 2024

Joan Catt, a long-time resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed away on September 10, 2024, at the age of 91. Mrs. Catt was the daughter of Donivan Guard Boyd and Helen Fawcett Boyd. Born on April 9, 1933, in the same town where she later drew her last breath, Joan lived a quiet life devoted to her family. She left this world peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Joan's journey began and ended in Columbus, a town she cherished. She married Ronald Ivan Catt, the love of her life, who preceded her in death, as did their beloved daughter, Kathy Jo Miller; her parents; her brother, John Wayne Boyd, and sisters, Norma Jean Warren, Patricia Merrian, and Mary Lou Deal. Joan loved gardening, fishing, camping, and going to dirt track racing with her husband. Later in life, Joan enjoyed a good joke, reading the Bible, doing word search puzzles, tending to her dog Pumpkin, and talking with her family. A doting mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Joan's family was the centerpiece of her world. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Terry (Dave) Rosenberger; sisters, Barbara Turone and Donna Sue Martin; granddaughters, Heather (Jacob) Robak and Stephanie (Roger Daniels) Somerset; great-grandsons, Levi (Dakota Thompson) Bird and Jacob Bird; and great-great-granddaughters, Rebecca and Oaklynn Bird. Joan will be laid to rest in Garland Brook Cemetery beside her husband with private graveside rites at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024. There will be no visitation hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. You are invited to leave a condolence or favorite memory of Joan here on the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home website.
