Nancy J. Hankins

Nancy J. Hankins, a mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, at Franciscan Health South, at the age of 75. Born on May 22, 1949, in Columbus, Indiana, Nancy lived a life marked by compassion, humor, and an adventurous spirit that endeared her to all. Nancy dedicated 40 years to Columbus Regional Hospital, where her work touched countless lives. Her commitment to service also shone through her involvement at Flintwood Wesleyan Church. She found joy in bowling, playing bingo, and the occasional visit to her favorite casinos. Survived by sons, Travis (Shirley) Hankins and Aaron Hankins; brothers, Mike (Connie) Hankins and Bill (Elaine) Hankins; sister, Donna Cross; and cherished grandchildren, Ocean and Noah Hankins. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Hankins. Remembered with a smile for her funny anecdotes, kindness, boundless zest for life and “rolling her eyes”, Nancy's legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. Memorial services will be held for Nancy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 16, 2024 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Jones officiating. Nancy’s visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Flintwood Wesleyan Church through the funeral home.
