Majak Akot Yai, known affectionately to all as Majak, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, in Columbus, Indiana. Born on January 1, 1986, in Makum Aweil, South Sudan, Majak's journey of life was marked by resilience, joy, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. Majak's life was a testament to his strength and determination. After immigrating to the United States, he became a proud citizen, deeply grateful for the opportunities and friendships he found in his adopted country. Majak built a fulfilling career at Cummins as a dedicated employee and vehicle driver, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his work ethic and kind-hearted nature. Those who knew Majak will remember him as a passionate soccer enthusiast, a sport that brought him immense joy and camaraderie. His love for the game was only matched by his devotion to his Christian faith, which guided him throughout his life and provided comfort and strength in times of need. Majak leaves behind a wife, Viviana Awut Garang Aciek, children: Yai Majak, Lual Majak, Yai Majak, and Atong Maduok. He also leaves behind his dear brother, Dut Akot Yai, who was both a sibling and a close friend throughout their lives. Memorial donations may be made directly to Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home to help with his final expenses. Majak's departure from this world leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
