Jerry Dale Ward, 56, of Nashville, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Jerry was born on April 4, 1968 in Ogilville, IN to David Dale Ward and Debra Williams Ward. Jerry's early life in Ogilville laid the foundation for his love of the outdoors and the simple pleasures in life. He carried this love throughout his life, often found with a fishing pole in hand, patiently waiting for the next big catch. His passion for the water was only matched by his dedication to his work. Jerry was a familiar face at Hoosier Buddy Liquors, where his jovial nature and friendly banter made him not just an employee but a cherished part of the community. Beyond his professional life, Jerry was known for his impressive collection of Van Halen memorabilia. His admiration for the iconic rock band was evident in every corner of his home, a testament to the music that fueled his zest for life. Jerry's fondness for reminiscing about the past extended beyond music. He was a storyteller at heart, with an uncanny ability to transport his listeners back in time with vivid memories and heartfelt anecdotes. His stories will live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, cremation is planned. A private inurnment will take place at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery at a later date. Survivors include his father, David Dale Ward of Anderson; children, Savanna Ward of Nashville, IN and Brian Harris of Columbus, IN; sister, Sheila Ward of Elizabethtown, IN; uncle, Mike (Faye) Williams; aunts and cousins also survive. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Ward and brother, Jeff Ward.
