Dana was a proud graduate of Columbus East High School, Class of 1977. On November 18, 1983, Dana married Monica A. Christian, and together they built a family foundation of love and support. The couple went on to raise two wonderful children, Anthony J. (Amy) Sylvia of Franklin and Jessica R. (Andrew) Hall of Columbus. The joy of his life extended to his beloved grandchildren, Braxton Hall, Alexis Baty, Madisyn Baty, and Dillon Baty, who will cherish memories of their grandfather's loving presence. In addition to his immediate family, Dana is survived by his mother, Shirley Sylvia of Columbus; his brothers, Vaughn (Tina) Sylva of Columbus, and Harlan (Shawn) Sylvia of Scipio; his sisters, Sheryl McQuinn of Brandon, FL, and Marcia Sylva of Columbus. A cherished uncle and friend, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. An avid racing enthusiast, Dana had a particular passion for NASCAR and the IndyCar Series. He spent most of his years at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, attending the Indy 500 while cheering on his favorite driver, AJ Foyt. It was that passion that he passed on to his son, Anthony, and grandson, Braxton. Dana had an ear for music, you would frequently find him sitting in his recliner, tapping to the beat of The Beatles and ZZ Top. Yet, above all else, it was the time spent with his children and grandchildren that Dana valued most, creating moments that will live in their hearts forever. 1. To Shirley and family,
So sorry to hear of Dana’s passing. May the Lord keep you all in His care as we look forward to the wonderful reunion we will have one day. Much love to you all.

  2. Worked at RK with Dana, one of the nicest people I knew. Always talking about his wife and his grandson Braxton and sharing pictures , then always ran into him at Walmart , my husband and I really enjoyed talking to him. So free spirited and sometimes we would see him at the gym. We hate that we did not know he had passed, we would have come to the viewing. What a wonderful person. Dick and Jane Hammond
