Harold Dye
February 4, 1968 ~ March 28, 2025
Harold L. Dye, 57, a man known for his friendly demeanor, handy craftsmanship, adventurous spirit, and enormous uplifting smile, passed away on March 28, 2025. Born on February 4, 1968, in Iowa City, Iowa, he lived a life full of joy, love, and the simple pleasures of the great outdoors.
Harold's love for fishing, boating, and the freedom of riding his motorcycle was evident in the way he embraced every opportunity for an adventure. His heart was truly content when he was surrounded by nature, with the wind in his hair and his loved ones by his side. An avid animal lover, he extended his kindness to all creatures great and small, both wild and domestic.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Venita Marie Carlson and Buck Vincent, his children, daughter Kristy Adkins and his son Brandon Dye and, his step-daughters Stephyne Stuart and Amy Livingston, five grandchildren, his brother Merle (Lisa) Johns, his sister Dana Kadel, and his step-sister Chyna (Al) Phillips. Additionally, he held a special place in his life for his “adopted” sons, Justin “Jay” Wombles and Anthony Bingham, as well as his four-legged children, D.O.G., Punky, and Tiny. Harold was preceded in death by his four-legged child, Bipp, a pug.
A funeral celebrating Harold’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Travis Stamper officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time.
Harold's departure leaves a void in the myriad of lives he touched with his warmth and generosity. As novelist Helen Keller once said, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Harold's legacy of love, friendship, and adventure will forever remain a part of us.
