Dennetta S. Watts
March 21, 1949 ~ April 19, 2025
Dennetta S. Watts, a source of unwavering kindness and gentle love, departed from this world on April 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion. Born on March 21, 1949, in Welch, West Virginia, Dennetta's journey through life was marked by an abundance of love, artistic talent, and tireless dedication to her family and friends.
Her soul found its match in Chuck Watts, to whom she pledged her heart and life on March 22, 2013, after a companionship of 37 beautiful years. Together, they navigated the ebb and flow of life's myriad adventures. Dennetta's spirit is celebrated by her sister, Diana L. Steigerwalt, and cherished in-laws, Cindy Roberts, and Michael and Cindy Watts. The echoes of her laughter resonate in the hearts of her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as the close friends who stood by her through thick and thin.
Dennetta's hands weaved magic as she created quilts that wrapped loved ones in the warmth of her affection. Her culinary skills brought joy to any table she graced, and her love for her Yorkie puppies was a testament to her boundless capacity for love. Her gardens flourished under her caring touch, just as the lives of those around her blossomed with her nurturing presence.
A funeral service celebrating Dennetta’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Wright officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. She will be laid to rest in New Bellsville Cemetery in Brown County. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Dennetta’s memory may do so to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.
In her honor, let us remember that "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched—they must be felt with the heart," as Helen Keller once said. Dennetta's life was indeed a tapestry of beautiful things, deeply felt, tenderly crafted, and lovingly remembered by all whose hearts she touched. Her legacy of gentle, loving kindness will continue to inspire and motivate us to live with open hearts and open hands, turning every encounter into an opportunity for growth and connection.

A white dove has been released as Dennetta was called home. She was one tough little lady who said exactly what she felt. The love she spread was certainly felt by everyone. Back in 1977 when I joined the family by marrying Walt I was welcomed and made to feel I belonged. I will miss you Dennetta, special Sister-In-Law.
