October 3, 1950 ~ June 17, 2025

Ronald D. Moody, 74, of Columbus, IN passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Keepsake Village of Columbus. Ronald was born on October 3, 1950 in Dayton, OH to Howard Kenneth Moody and Margaret Catherine (Orme) Moody. Ronald was married to E. Carol England on September 24, 1982. Ronald's commitment to service was evident through his remarkable 40-year tenure with the Burney Volunteer Fire Department. His unwavering dedication to helping others in times of need was a testament to his character and the love he had for his hometown. Ronald also retired from Dolly Madison after 40 years of loyal service, where he was not only a diligent worker but also a friend to all his colleagues. His interests were as generous and varied as his service to the community. Ronald found solace and joy in camping with family and friends (he called it his camping family), doing puzzles, listening to music, canoeing, fishing and riding his beloved Honda Goldwing. Traveling with his wife was one of his greatest pleasures, exploring new places and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Ronald's hands were rarely still, as he loved tinkering in his garage on various projects, with his best friend Joe always by his side. These moments of camaraderie and creation were among his most cherished times. Above all, Ronald was a family man. His greatest pride and joy were the moments spent surrounded by his loved ones. The love he held for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and the legacy of kindness, laughter, and resilience he leaves behind will continue to inspire them for generations to come. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Ronald will be laid to rest beside his wife at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to any local volunteer Fire Department in Ron’s name. Survivors include his children, Stacy Moody, Goldie Huddleston, Becky Haley, Teresa Moody, Christina Moody, Diane (Bradley) Ott and Dana (Jeffrey) Young; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive.
