Charles Bailey, a devoted family man, patriotic veteran, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, in Franklin, Indiana, at the age of 86. Born on June 19, 1939, in Liberty, Kentucky, Charles grew up with a deep love for his country and a spirit of adventure that would define his life.
Charles's dedication to his nation was evident through his remarkable 23-year military career, where he honorably served 10 years in the Navy before continuing his service in the National Guard for an additional 13 years. His courageous service was a testament to his character and commitment to the values he held dear.
Charles worked at REMC (Rural Electric Membership Corporation) for 28 years and loved his work and the people there.
A loving husband, he was married to the love of his life for 65 years. Together, they built a foundation of love and support that extended to their son, and grandchildren.
He was a proud American who cherished his country and the freedoms it provided. His love for America was matched by his faith, as he was a dedicated Christian who’s deep connection to God was evident in his love for gospel music and beautiful singing voice, which brought comfort and joy to those around him.
Charles's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will continue, and the laughter and jokes he told will always be a happy memory for all the lives he touched.

Charlie was a wonderful husband and friend.
He and Anita have been my spiritual parents. They were instrumental in leading me to Christ. Charlie always loved on me and my girls. I loved listening to him sing with the quartet at the Galilean and playing Santa Claus for the children.
Charlie, we miss you deeply and love you forever. We look forward to seeing you again. Until then, keep singing in the presence of your King.

We enjoyed visits to Minnesota from Charlie and Anita. He always had the best sayings. He was a great man, a proud patriot and will be missed by both of us.
