Lana M. Luzier, 78, of Columbus, IN, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Aspen Trace Family-first Senior Living. She was born in Columbus, IN on August 8, 1946 to Elmer and Mary Margaret Tekulve. Lana married Bruce Luzier on May 15, 1964. Lana dedicated many years in food service with the Bartholomew County School Corporation; she worked with unwavering commitment until her retirement. She was also an avid supporter of Eric Luzier Photography. Her dedication to her career was matched only by her involvement with the Order of Eastern Star #339, where she held the esteemed position of Past Worthy Matron. Her leadership and compassion within the Order were sources of inspiration and guidance to many. Lana was a gifted craft maker. Her hands were rarely still, as she poured her heart into creating beautiful and intricate pieces that brought joy to all who received them. Lana's love for the Christmas holiday was legendary; Her enthusiasm for the season was infectious, and she delighted in sharing it with friends, family, and the community. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Brian Gilroy officiating. Calling hours will be from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Private burial will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana. Survivors include her husband, Bruce Luzier; children, Shannon (Jeff) Weaver of Columbus, IN and Eric (Deborah) Luzier of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Lesley (Brian) Stillabower, Kyle Weaver, Ryan Weaver, Lauren Luzier and Brandon (Kayla) Luzier; great grandchildren, Tyler and Briley Stillabower. Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Margaret Tekulve.

  1. I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember Lana when I was in Rainbow Girls. She often came and pitched in with our projects and offered guidance. My family always enjoyed going by her house at Christmas, both for Santa and the lovely outdoor display. Praying for peace and comfort for all of you.
