Lynn B. Hoeltke

Lynn B. Hoeltke, 76, passed from this life on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at his home at Lutheran Lake that he shared with his wife of 53 years Beverly Hoeltke. Lynn was born June 5,1949 in Columbus, Indiana. Lynn was the son of Lorena (Arnholt) and Wilbur Hoeltke. Lynn married the love of his life, Beverly Williams on August 22,1971 at St. Peter’s Church in Columbus, Indiana. Lynn was a master woodworker and loved to create beautiful furniture and wood art. Throughout his lifetime he made pieces for his family, friends and the church. Lynn was one of the founding members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bev and Lynn are current members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbus, Indiana. Lynn believed in Jesus as his personal savior. Lynn loved eagles and one of his favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” We find comfort in Lynn being with Jesus and that we will see him again.
Lynn will be remembered always as a loving husband, and father, who shared with the world his talent of woodworking and being a help to others through his knowledge of phlebotomy.
M.B.A, M.T. (A.S.C.P.), P.B.T., D.L.M., Lynn has more than 40 years’ experience in different laboratory leadership roles in both hospital and reference laboratories. Lynn became passionate about teaching Phlebotomy. His teaching led him to write magazine articles, books and create videos concerning Phlebotomy procedures and practices. He was consulted by nursing homes, and laboratories about teaching Phlebotomy.
Survivors include wife Beverly Hoeltke; daughter Amanda (Jeff) McDonald; son Jonathan (Alechia) Hoeltke; sister Carole Disler and; 7 grandchildren; Joshua, Molly and Mark McDonald, and Chalmer, Haakon, Gwyneth, and Lela Hoeltke. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents. Lynn’s confirmation verse is: Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2025 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6045 East State Street, Columbus, IN 47201 with Pastor Doug Bauman officiating the service. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. The burial with follow immediately after the funeral at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
