Marcia Sue Cox
July 30, 1942 ~ February 1, 2026
Marcia Sue Cox, 83, of Columbus, IN, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility. Marcia was born in Rushville, IN on July 30, 1942 to Tony Charles Ogden and Doris Frances Tague Ogden. She married Arthur G. Cox on July 27, 1984.
Marcia’s professional life was characterized by her strong work ethic and her meticulous attention to detail. Throughout her career, she held several clerical positions. Her commitment to excellence was evident in all she did, culminating in a rewarding retirement from Hamilton Cosco.
A devout Christian, Marcia found solace and strength in her faith. She was a long-time attendee of St. Louis Crossing Baptist Church, where she formed many lasting friendships and contributed to the community through various church activities. In the latter 19 years of her life, she became an integral part of the congregation at Walker Chapel Church, where her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her.
Her passion for embroidery and hand knitting became the hallmark of her generosity. Marcia’s intricate designs and cozy creations were not just hobbies but acts of love that she shared freely with all around her.
Throughout her life, Marcia’s hands were rarely still, as she believed in the power of giving. Each stitch she made was a testament to her dedication to bringing joy to others. Her handcrafted gifts were not just appreciated for their beauty but cherished as symbols of her enduring affection and friendship.
A voracious reader, she could often be found with a book in hand, lost in stories and knowledge that she would eagerly share with anyone who showed interest. Television provided her with a window to the world, and she enjoyed keeping up with current events and indulging in the occasional drama series.
Traveling was another of Marcia’s joys, as she relished the opportunity to explore new places and cultures. However, the most profound of her interests was the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren. Marcia was the quintessential grandmother, who found her greatest happiness in spoiling her grandchildren with love, attention, and the occasional treat. Her legacy of love and the values she instilled in them will undoubtedly be carried forward for generations to come.
