Born in: Columbus, Indiana
Resided in: Columbus, Indiana

Bonnie Louise Wooten (73) of Columbus, Indiana peacefully went home to be with our Lord the evening of Monday, March 23, 2026 following an acute illness. Nana was born in Columbus on November 26, 1952.
She was known by many simply as “Nana” – a testament to the loving and nurturing impression she had on all who were lucky enough to have known her.
She spent 20 years working as a seamstress for Columbus Sportswear until the company moved out of the country. She then served 20 years as a custodian for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation until retirement. During her retirement, she maintained close relationships with friends in the school system and continued on with repairing the Columbus East High School football uniforms at the end of every season for several years.
Nana was an incredibly crafty woman who enjoyed a variety of creative outlets but was most notably known by all for her sewing talents. When she wasn’t busy with a project, she could be found sitting on the porch swing watching the birds on her various bird feeders. She was also a challenging Yahtzee opponent and an amazing cook. Nana devoted her life to her family, becoming heavily involved throughout the years as a dedicated band mom and biggest fan of all her grandchildren’s various activities.
In addition to her parents Jennie and Homer Jackson. Nana was preceded in death by her siblings Steve Jackson and Sharon Shelton, as well as her son-in-law Larry Wood. She is survived by her daughters, Lavon Tertocha and Charlotte Wood; grandchildren, Gabriel (Brianna) Tertocha, Taylor (Cody) Ubelhor, and McKenzie Wood; two great-grandchildren and several extended family members who will miss her dearly. She also leaves behind several grand fur babies who she adored.
Nana left a lasting impact on all of those whose lives she touched, gaining many honorary children and grandchildren along the way. Her kind heart, generous spirit, and reliable presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of a funeral service, a celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 29th, at the Ogilville Christian Church from 2-4 PM, with a small ceremony in the chapel at 3 PM. We invite all who knew and loved Nana to join us in celebrating and honoring her memory.
