Randall D. Burton, 67, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility. Randy was born on November 23, 1958 in Columbus, IN to Samuel W. Burton and Evelyn Bryant Burton. He married Delores “Dee” Whitehead on July 24, 1979.

Randy took pride in his roots and in the life he built. His days were often filled with the kinds of activities that brought him peace and satisfaction. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and restoring old cars, and he found great fulfillment in working with his hands and seeing the results of patience and care. Whether he was spending a quiet morning outdoors or turning a wrench on a beloved vehicle, Randy approached each interest with genuine enthusiasm.

Above all else, Randy treasured time with his family, especially his grandbaby’s, whom he loved dearly. Being with them brought him great happiness, and he cherished every opportunity to share in their lives. His love for them was evident in the way he spoke about them, the time he made for them, and the joy he found in their company. These moments were among the most meaningful in his life, and they will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
