Darlene Marie Cox

Darlene Marie Cox, 70, of Edinburgh, passed away at 10:43 a.m. on July 8, 2026. Darlene was born on December 13, 1955 in Jeremiah, Kentucky, the daughter of Ivry and Anne Marie (Spencer) Caudill.

Darlene will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to everyone she met. She never knew a stranger, and her home and heart were always open to anyone in need. Whether they were related by blood or simply became family through her kindness, Darlene welcomed countless people into her life and treated them as her own. She had an incredibly generous spirit and was always looking for ways to help others.

Some of her happiest moments were spent gathered around the table playing cards or throwing dice with family and friends, filling the room with laughter and friendly competition. She adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment she shared with them.

Darlene also enjoyed watching game shows, she was a devoted Kentucky Wildcats fan, and proudly cheered on Big Blue Nation and also enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts. She enjoyed making lasting memories with the family through every season. Her compassion, warmth, and unwavering love for others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A funeral service for Darlene will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Service and Crematory. The visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with Apostle B.J. Riley officiating. In honoring Darlene’s wishes cremation was chosen.

Darlene is survived by son Joshua Shane Wilson; daughter, Stephanie Marie Sills; grandchildren, Shane Douglas Wilson, Skyler David Wilson, Daniel Kaden Johnson, Lucas Isaac Johnson, and Phoebe Marie Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivry and Anne Caudill; sisters, Sharon Whitaker and Judi Campbell; and daughter, Erica Sills

Services were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Funeral Service and Crematory.
