Resided in: Columbus, Indiana

Carolyne Harden, a long-time resident of Columbus, Indiana, peacefully passed away on July 22, 2026, at Willow Crossing at the age of 81. Born in Kentucky on September 9, 1944, to her parents, Herman and Dorothy. Carolyne brought a gentle warmth and a caring spirit into the world that stayed with her throughout her entire life.

Many in the Columbus community will remember Carolyne’s friendly face from her years of dedicated work at CVS. She didn’t just have customers—she made true friends, greeting everyone with a kind word and a genuine interest in their lives.
When she wasn’t connecting with people, Carolyne could almost always be found lost in the pages of a great book or immersed in the classic, rugged storytelling of an old Western movie. Above all, she was a deeply loving and caring matriarch who poured her heart into her family.

Carolyne has been reunited with her beloved husband, William “Pat” Harden, and her two daughters, Patty Harden and Dorothy Roberts, who preceded her in death.

Her legacy of love lives on through her surviving daughter, Micki Harden; her three grandchildren, Erica Roberts, Tristan Harden, and Shannon Satterfield and her five cherished great-grandchildren. Pat and Carolyne’s lives were also enriched by their longtime caregiver, Neah Martin.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Jewell-Rittman Funeral Service & Crematory. Friends and family are invited to visit their website to sign the online guest registry and share their favorite memories of Carolyne.

  1. I just found out of Carolyne’s passing a little bit ago. I am sorry for your loss. I have just messaged some of the other former Hook’s employees. I have good memories of her laugh and working with her for several years. May God give you comfort.
