Angela Nay Piper passed away on August 9, 2026 at Columbus Regional Hospital with her loving husband Morris at her side. He cared for her during her illness of several months.

Angela was valedictorian of her high school class at Edinburgh High School in the early 1980’s. She graduated from Indiana University’s John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis with a Bachelors Degree in Lithography.

She was employed at a gift shop at Keystone at The Crossing in Indianapolis for a number of years.

After her marriage she had various jobs in Columbus, Indiana, including being a caregiver at Comfort Keepers. She enjoyed being a homemaker for Morris in their 116-year-old home along Haw Creek.

Angela enjoyed reading, cooking, raising flowers and gardening. She especially enjoyed tending to her many varieties of tomatoes. She also assisted Morris with his booths at Gypsy Moon Flea Market at Gnaw Bone, Indiana.

She loved interacting with her cat, Dissa. (Named because as a young cat he disappeared often.)

She is survived by her loving husband, Morris Piper, Jr. to whom she was married nearly twenty-two years. She is also survived by a sister, Dr. Sally Mock of Lynchburg, VA; a nephew, Robert “Bo” Burns of Leesburg, VA; some aunts and uncles in the Barrett family as well as great nieces, great nephews and one great-great niece; cousin, JoAnne Anness of Columbus, IN and a number of cousins in the Barrett family.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents, June Barrett Nay and Don C. Nay, two infant brothers, Don Carlos Nay and Don Alan Nay; a niece, Katie Story.

Per Angela’s request, cremation is chosen with no services. Private inurnment will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery.
