William Larry Sweet

William Larry Sweet, known to many as Larry, passed away on August 8, 2026, in Columbus, Indiana, at the age of 64. He was born on March 23, 1962, in London, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by love for his family, appreciation for music, devotion to animals, and a deep enjoyment of the outdoors.

He is survived by his daughters, Chasty Nacole Sweet Reed, and Adora Rose Sweet (Zachary Fivecoat). He is also survived by his mother, Ruby Sweet; his brothers, Charles Steve Sweet, Tony (Tiffany) Sweet, and Chris (Daphne) Sweet. Larry was a proud grandfather to Julie Walters (William Wills), Jonah (Adara) Walters, Chloe Durbin (Dalton Lee), Cadence Edwards (Guy Ritchie), Garrett Lunsford, Sebastian Lunsford. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Waylon Edward Susdorf, Delilah Jane Perry, Addie Mae Walters, Millie Rose Walters, Derrick Scott Lee, and Elaina Jolene Lee.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Sweet; his brother, Joseph Sweet; and his granddaughter, Eleanor Jolene Reed. These loved ones held a special place in his heart, and their memories remained important to him throughout his life.

He loved music and could often be found listening to songs that lifted his mood or brought back cherished memories. He also had a special affection for animals, especially his dogs, who were constant companions and a source of comfort and happiness. The outdoors was another place where Larry felt at peace, and he appreciated the beauty and calm that nature offered.

Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy is carried forward through the generations of family he leaves behind, and he will be remembered with affection, gratitude, and enduring love.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Service and Crematory followed by a graveside service at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery officiated by Rev. Larry Fields.
