Dana Rae Foster

Dana Foster, 52, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 27th, 2026.

Ms. Foster had many talents and passions including creative ones such as painting, writing, and drawing. She also loved being able to problem-solve and help people through circumstances throughout her career. She was at Coach Outlet for nine years (a place where which many lifelong friendships were made). Following that, she spent nearly fifteen years at Garland Brook Cemetery helping many people process their grief while staying organized.

She spent her time here—on this planet—with an innate sense of curiosity. She always questioned the world around her, looking for meaning and looking for ultimately a deeper truth. Through it, she found many friends and held many deep conversations with loved ones. She also knew when not to take things too seriously and often that was when everyone else was taking far too seriously. She was often a source of unexpected laughter at a solemn table, lifting everyone’s spirit unexpectedly.

She worked hard as her life stopped and started again and again whether it was going back to college twice to obtain two degrees while working, or pushing herself through recovery after repeated prolonged health matters. She always kept on pushing through the changes as if to prove the universe wrong.

Outside of her lifelong rebellious streak, she often opened up her heart to those around allowing them to discuss—but not fret over—matters big and small, in turn encouraging that same curiosity in others.

She graduated from Edinburgh High School in 1992. Later, she graduated from Harrison College with an associates degree in 2009, followed by a bachelors degree in accounting in 2011.

Dana was born on March 2, 1974, the daughter of Charles and Bonnie Foster. She obtained a lifelong dream of owning her home with a pool in 2018.

Dana is survived by her sisters Kelly Turner, of Edinburgh, and Noreen Foster of Illinois; her brother, Charles M. Foster, Jr., of Nashville; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bonnie Foster, of Edinburgh.

A service will be held at the Garland Brook Mausoleum Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 5, 2026. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the Bell Tower Garden at Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Funeral Service and Crematory.
