Ada Carol Gassaway

Ada Carol Gassaway, 76 of Taylorsville, died Sunday August 1, 2021 at Franklin Meadows Nursing Home in Franklin, Indiana.
Mrs. Gassaway was born July 10, 1945 in Pineville, Kentucky, the daughter of William Thomas Murray and Mabel Marie (Hudson) Murray. She married James Earl Gassaway on July 3, 1968.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Dow of Columbus; sons, James and Mark Gassaway, both of Taylorsville, Johnny (Robin) Gassaway of Edinburgh and Jeff (Sandy) Gassaway of Columbus; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sisters Louise Ison, Bobbie Thompson, Beth Davis, Faye Tigge, Joan Goins and Jeannette Dixon.
Ada was a wife and mother who also worked in the manufacturing industry, serving 29 years for Dorel Juvenile Group prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Taylorsville Baptist Church and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed working in her garden, growing flowers, working puzzles and fishing.
Arrangements for Ada are being handled by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation for Ada will be from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the funeral home with the service following at 2 p.m., with Mr. Chuck Stevens officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Love you aunt Carol all sisters gone now but there great celebration in when got met all loved ones . love miss you , you always good to mom she loved you very much. Sorry can’t be at funeral today. Prayers for your family kids and grandchildren today when lay you to rest. Prayers
So sorry to hear of Great Aunt Carol’s passing. I really wish we could have seen her one last time, but sadly we never had the time to come visit. I’ll always remember the delicious tomatoes from her garden and her biscuits and gravy!
