Mr. Philyaw was a bass guitar player. He enjoyed music and spending time with his grandchildren. Born in Bessemer, Ala., Oct. 12, 1951, Mr. Philyaw was the son of Albert L. Alabam and Elsie A. Holley Philyaw. He is survived by his mother, of Scottsburg; a daughter, Jennifer S. Hillen of Columbus; a sister, Gail Jaggers of Columbus; a brother, Johnnie S. (Nancy) Philyaw of Scottsburg; and grandchildren, Samantha Philyaw, Christina Hillen and Christopher Daniel. He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Melissa G.
