Althea R. Romine Redwine December 23, 1921 - March 23, 2007 Althea R. Romine Redwine, 85, formerly of Sylmar, California died at 8:56 P.M. Friday March 23, 2007 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Care Facility. A 1939 graduate of Columbus High School, she moved back to Columbus March 1, 2007. She and her late husband owned and operated a Tool & Die business in California before retirement. She was of the Christian Faith. She loved to travel, especially coming home to Indiana to visit her family. She loved animals and was a pet sitter in her later years. She also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She had many dear friends in Sylmar that she loved and enjoyed walking her dogs in Veterans Park with them. In her early years, she was a model. She was born in Rockcreek Township on December 23, 1921 to Frank F. and Edna Quick Romine. She married Harold E. Towles on January 12, 1951. He died on July 29, 1959. She then married Ernest Redwine in 1962. He died on January 4, 1981. She is survived by her brother John (Fern) Romine of Columbus; sister Rose Ramsey of Indianapolis; nieces Janice Tempest of Columbus, Rosaline (Jim) King of Westport, Sharon (Jim) West of Franklin, Karen (Bill) Barrett of Bargersville, Kay (Allen) Daily of Ohio, Phyllis (Gerry) Clarkson of North Vernon, Luray Heitz of Arizona; Nephews Donald Tuttle of Indianapolis, Stan (Mary) Tuttle of Scipio, Ronald (Rantha) McElhaney of Arizona, Terry (Judy) Romine of Elizabethtown, Max (Pat) Romine of Ohio, Gary (Moira) Romine of Freedom, Indiana, Larry (Kathy) Romine of Arizona, Steven Ramsey of Indianapolis and 29 great nieces and nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Wayne and Earl Romine and a sister, Lavah Tuttle. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted Monday, March 26, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. at the Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with David Camp officiating. CALLING: Will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
