Angela Jane Haddix
September 26, 1964 ~ July 26, 2025
Angela Jane Haddix, born on September 26, 1964, the daughter of Ollie and Joyce Spears Haddix. They both have preceded her in death.
The following are the family’s fondest memories of Angela.
I have lost my best friend, my sister, today on July 26, 2025.
She passed away at home unexpectedly. We were always there for each other like your right and left hands.
We together cared for our parents until they passed. Angie, we called her, worked at BCSC for a total of 16 years.
She purchased her own home in 2020 and was very proud to own something, her very own home, for all her hard work.
Angie’s passion in life was her family; Lindsey, her niece, and her 2 girls, Mckenna and Molly, whom Angie loved seeing every time we picked her up from work. Krystina, her niece and Krystina’s son, Brayden lived with Angie and kept her company.
Angie enjoyed Hallmark movies, lifetime movies, Clydesdale horses, deer, snow globes, and going to Walmart every time she had a chance.
Her favorite music artists were Bon Jovi and Def Leppard.
Christmas was Angie’s favorite time of the year. She would start shopping in Late September so she would have enough time to get everyone at least 3 or 4 gifts.
Her Christmas tree was decked out, with not a branch missing an ornament or a light.
She refused to spend big money on a steak dinner. Angie’s bills came first, even if it meant eating cereal or lunch meat until the next payday.
Angie was loved very much by her family and the many employees at Smith Elementary School.
She will be deeply missed, especially by me, Betsy Cross, her best friend, and sister. Fly high sister. You will always be with your family.
Angie is survived by her siblings, James Arthur (Kandy) Haddix, Betsy (Rick) Cross, nieces and nephews, Krystina Haddix, Joe Haddix, Lindsey Bay, and Andrew Bay; great nephew, Brayden Haddix and great nieces, McKenna Bay, and Molly Bay; 4 aunts and many cousins.
Burial will be in Garland Brook at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
An updated date and time for burial will be posted soon.

Angie was so much more than just a custodian. We would chat after school while I graded papers and she cleaned my room. She would proudly brag usually around late September or early October that she had finished her Christmas shopping and would act shocked and in disbelief that I hadn’t even started mine yet! She was such a loving, caring person. Betsy and Angie were the best custodians and some of the best people I have ever met!
Betsy here Hey Girl, I can’t Believe You still remember Ang & I Thank You for caring. Angie would tell You to start thinking about what You are getting your family for Christmas about,,,now
Angie Haddix…’Ang’ I called her, unless I was singin’ the Rolling Stones song, “Angie” loudly in the hallway to fondly get her attention, was one of the most COMPASSIONATE people I’ve ever known. Ang took pride in EVERYTHING she did, and always worked hard through any of life’s challenges, and she sure had more than her fair share of those. She never complained though, she just kept on moving on. We can all be inspired by that!
Ang had one of the BIGGEST hearts, and put others before herself. She cared deeply for her friends and family, and always lended a helping hand wherever needed. We talked MANY hours after school while she hustled and bustled working in the classrooms and hallways at Clifty Creek and L. Frances Smith School. We would even call each other outside of school to check on each other.
Ang was also always excited about her Christmas shopping and gift-giving. She loved surprising others. Ang would always tell me all the special things she was getting for all the important people in her life.
Ang and I shared a common fave, a good slice of key lime pie from time to time. Ang had a great sense of humor, too, which I loved, because we always had fun teasing each other. We had more than a teacher-custodian relationship. We were longtime FRIENDS, along with her sister, Bets, who I also met many years ago at Clifty Creek. Being at school won’t be the same without her. The halls will lose their sparkle. I will miss her everyday! 🙁 Sending continued love, prayers, and hugs to Bets, and her whole family….Kim Buchanan ( Robinholt)
