Anna Mae Powers, 78, of Columbus, died at 11:58 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Miller’s Merry Manor. Anna was born July 27, 1944, the daughter of Albert and Evelyn Freel Herbert. She met and married the love of her life, Gene Powers on December 2, 1967. Anna was born in Millhousen and spent her entire life as a resident of Indiana. She loved fishing, playing cards, and the game aggravation, and was an avid reader. A very talented lady, Anna crocheted several blankets and crosses that were donated all over the world to various prisons and missions. A woman of Faith, Anna loved her God and her family. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Larrison officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service date. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Gene; daughter, Terri Tidwell, of Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua Music of Edinburgh, Jolinda Music-Taulbee of Edinburgh, Nickie Eakle of Hope, Calaeb Laine of Columbus, and Joshua King of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Jayson Music, Jaxon Music, Gemma Music, Athena Isgrigg, Alexander Decueber, Aliea Decueber, Taylor-Mae Williamson, Jacob Williamson, Allen Williamson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James Herbert, a nephew, James Herbert Jr., and a daughter, Beckie Petro. Arrangements entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
