Arthur Finley Ward, 64, of Columbus, Ind., died at 9:01 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Ward was previously employed at Golden Foundry. He was an F5 Gunners Mate serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Laffey, a guard ship for the USS Enterprise, during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mr. Ward was born Dec. 11, 1941 in Bartholomew County, the son of Martin F. and Margaret Ward.
Survivors include his mother, of Columbus; sons, Ronald (Karen) Ward of Franklin, Ind. and Darryl Ward of Medora, Ind.; daughters, Cheryl (Don) Cox of Kentucky, Carla Ward and Tanya Ward, both of Medora; brothers, Larry Ward of Columbus and Bill Ward of Kentucky; a sister, Marilyn Dill of Bedford, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Carl Ward.
Funeral Information
SERVICES: Military rites will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at 4 p.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
CALLING: Tuesday from 3 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
