Henry, 88, of Abounding Drive, died at 3:25 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Austin was born January 1, 1927 in Columbus, the son of Austin H. and Iva Henry. He married Betty M. Imlay Henry September 23, 1972. Austin served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from Cummins Engine Company after 38 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church where he was very involved in church ministry for over 55 years and helped serve at the Men's Breakfast for many years. Austin enjoyed most sports, was an avid golfer and a Purdue fan. He also enjoyed traveling and music. Survivors include his wife, Betty; sons, Larry D. (Mary) Henry of Chesterton, Indiana and Doug Henry of Franklin; daughter, Shirley J. (Al) Smith of Buckeye, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Glenda Henry of Columbus; brother, Paul Henry of Pennsylvania; half sisters, Katherine of Indianapolis and Vivian of Columbus; grandchildren, Rob (Katrina) Henry of Hope, Amanda "AJ" Henry of Columbus, Kyle (Rachel) Henry of Chesterton, Keith (Whitney) Henry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Alex Smith of Greenwood; great grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor and Taylor Knotts and Rilee and Shane Henry; and great great grandchild, Syler Knotts. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Henry; and sisters, Carolyn and Linda Henry.
