Barbara Jean Fields
April 13, 1960 ~ May 17, 2024
Barbara Jean Fields, 64, of Columbus, passed away on May 17, 2024, at her home.
Barbara was born April 13, 1960, in Martinsville, Indiana, the daughter of Grover Howard and Nancy Willie Sutton Baker. She married Lucky Fields on December 18, 1992.
Barbara enjoyed sunflowers and loved being by the ocean. So much so that she lived there for many years before moving to Columbus. Barbara had tremendous faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and tried her best to love all she came into contact with. Most of all, Barbara loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her world, and she strived to spend as much time with them as she could. She was an angel on Earth and will be deeply missed.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 31 years, Lucky; her daughters Misty Ann (Jeff) Huntington of Bargersville and Paula Sue (Jeff) Dickey of Columbus; grandchildren Karley Deann Huntington, Darius Kole Huntington, Christian T. Dickey, and Kaitlyn D. Dickey; her sisters Patty A. (Larry) Hudson of Shelbyville and Cindy L. Barnhart of Columbus; her brothers John H. (Edna) Baker of Henderson, Nevada, Roger A. Baker of Pheonix, Arizona, and Danny R. (Vickie) Baker of London, Kentucky; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as her feline children Roxie, Gus, and Ki and several grand-dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Jayne L. Hearth and Nancy E. Meyer; as well as brothers William L. Baker and Marvin L. Baker.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Jewell–Rittman Family Funeral Home with Jerry Yaden officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.

I was so glad to see her. She was my sisters’ daughter who had passed when I was only 7. I think That was the best thing that could of ever of happened.
