Barbara Joyce Carie December 03, 1933 - July 26, 2008 Barbara Joyce Carie, 74, of North Marr Road, Columbus, Ind., died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. Barbara and her husband Dexter owned and operated Dexter Tire Service for 33 years before retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Mrs. Carie was born December 3, 1933 in Bicknell, Ind., the daughter of Jessee and Beulah Cooper. She married Dexter Paul Carie May 24, 1952. Survivors include a son, Matthew Steve Carie of Cape Coral, Fla.; daughters, Pamela (Charles) Collyer of Columbus, Ind., Catherine A. Carie of Columbus, Ind., Kim S. (Thomas) Mohler of Indianapolis, Ind., Michele E. Carie of Cape Coral, Fla. and Helen A. Carie of Lawrence, Ind.; and seven grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 19, 2007; and two sisters.
