Barbara Ann Lutz, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, June 14, 2020 at her home. She was born on July 17, 1936 in Jennings County to Everett and Marie Combs. She married Larry C. Lutz on April 17, 1954.
Barbara retired from the Bartholomew County School Corporation. She was a member of Scipio Presbyterian Church. Barbara enjoyed traveling, hummingbirds, flower gardening but most of all spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2020 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Survivors include her husband, Larry C. Lutz; sons, Kevin Lutz and Darrel Lutz; brothers, Steve (Mary) Combs and Allen (MaryJo) Combs; grandchildren, Kirsten (Jeremy) Gilmore, Kia Lutz, Kara Lutz, Kaleb Lutz, Shane (Amber) Templeton and Kylie (Steven) Hogg; 10 great grandchildren survive.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Genise Lutz and Pamela Templeton; a sister, Leona mace

Barbara was a friend from Scipio Presbyterian Church. I loved chatting with them before church. She had the sweetest and most loving smile. Although she had a lot of sad. Experiences in her life with the loss of daughters she always was concerned for others and made it a point to care. Loved being with her. My deepest sympathy to Larry and family in your loss. I rarely visit The Republic website but for some reason, and found this word…about this dear person. I remember how kind, how gracious, and how filled with goodness Barbara was. I remember her quiet faith that supported her though Pam’s loss. I remember what an excellent partner she was to Larry, her love for her children and grandchildren. Rest well friend.
