SERVICES: A graveside memorial service will be held at a future date with interment at Riverside Cemetery in the family plot in Hamilton, Illinois. Lamporte-St. Clair Funeral Home of Hamilton, Illinois. Local arrangements were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th St., Columbus, IN 47201. Betty Denholm Dietz, 94, of Columbus, IN, passed away at her home on January 31, 2014, with her family by her side. She had been under Hospice care for a number of weeks prior to her passing. Betty was born on July 16, 1919, to James and Inez Denholm, in Hamilton, Illinois. She graduated from Hamilton High School, attended Carthage College, and graduated, with honors, from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. Although she spent most of her life at home raising her two sons, she also spent a number of years teaching school in Naperville, IL and Michigan City, IN. She was a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church and a loyal member of P.E.O. Chapter ME . She loved gardening, reading, and playing bridge but, most of all, she loved and adored her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years Harold Dietz, , a brother, Jim Denholm of Ponte Vedra, FL, and a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Ross (Bill) Jones of Warsaw, IL. Betty is survived by her two sons, Jim Dietz and Tom Dietz, both of Columbus, Indiana, four grandchildren, James "Denny" Dietz of Denver, CO, Julie Owings (Tom) of Pflugerville, TX, Tiffany Dietz of Kalamazoo, MI, and Andrew Dietz of Pflugerville, TX. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, the sparkles in her eyes-Natalie, Carter, and Aidan Owings of Pflugerville, TX and Kristen Kuhtic of Kalamazoo, MI.
