VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 16, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th Street, Columbus, Indiana FUNERAL: Noon October 17, at Bethel Wesleyan Church, 4510 N. County Road 150W, Columbus, Indiana, with additional calling one hour before service. It will be officiated by Pastor Gordon Tilley BURIAL: Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh, Indiana MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Bethel Wesleyan Church Betty Kathleen Weekly Pruitt passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior in the early morning of October 12, 2015. She was the loving wife of 69 years to Ralph W. Pruitt of Jonesville Road; he survives. Betty was born to the Rev. E. Ray and Anna Weekly in Columbus, Indiana, on January 22, 1925. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean (Forrest) Waltz, and a baby brother, Ray Weekly Jr. Betty grew up in Columbus, graduating from Columbus High School. She was employed by Arvin Industries and Cummins Engine Co. She and Ralph were married on January 18, 1946. After her children were born, Betty became a full-time homemaker. Betty was a longtime active member of Bethel Wesleyan Church of Columbus. She delighted in time spent with her family and friends. She and Ralph have three children: son, Terry (Paula) Pruitt of Peru, Indiana; daughter, Sheryl (Rick) Chatham of Columbus; and daughter, Janice (Harody) Mendez of Fort Thomas, Kentucky. There are four beloved grandchildren: Gerald Pruitt and Bryan Pruitt of Peru, Indiana; Zach Chatham of Los Angeles, California; and Joanna Chatham (Lemuel) Young of Houston, Texas. Also left are her dear forever friends, Joel and Anna Garcia and, like another daughter to Betty, Varsi Garcia Weeter. The family wishes to thank all for the cards, calls and visits during the time of Betty's failing health. She enjoyed them immensely.






Dear Sheryl, I am so sorry for you loss. If I were still in Indiana would come see you. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family during your grief. I know your faith will help you get through this sad time.
