Betty L. Kelley, 87, of Columbus passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Betty was born June 15, 1934 in Columbus, a daughter of the late Alfred and Ora Mae (Hall) Schaefer. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Betty retired from Cummins, Inc. after more than 45 years of service. Surviving are her sons, Michael Hollin; and Dennis Hollin, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Amber Pfeiffer; and Richard McGee; and sister-in-law, Betty Schaefer of Nashville, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lee Kelley; step-daughter, Mary Kelley; daughter-in-law, Deborah Hollin; brother, Herbert Schaefer; sister and brother-in-law, Lucile and Bill Miller; and nephew, Kenneth Miller. Funeral service is 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 3330 30th Street Columbus with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home 3385 25th Street Columbus. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Mike and Dennis. I loved your mother’s sense of humor and her love of music. In my memory she always seemed to have a smile whenever I saw her at church. Please know I hold her in warm regard and fondly recall our years growing up in Columbus. May God bless her memory and give you comfort and peace as you say good-bye to her for a season.
