Betty Louise Robbins
September 6, 1932 ~ July 2, 2022
Betty Louise Robbins, age 89, of Columbus, Indiana, Formerly of Scottsburg Indiana,
passed from the earth on July 2, 2022. Betty was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on
September 6, 1932. She graduated from Scottsburg High School and was a roller-skating
carhop at Cliff's Drive-in, and it was there she met her one true love, Wallace Daniel
Robbins. They were married on December 31, 1949. Betty and Wallace had a love for
the ages, despite his leaving too soon. Betty opened her own hairdresser salon and
later was a chemical lab technician at the Charlestown Ammunition plant. Betty loved
mowing the lawn on tractors, slot machines (on which she had incredible luck), and her
family, fiercely.
She and Wallace raised a son, Jeff Robbins, and a daughter, Janet (Robbins) Voll, and
had 4 grandchildren. Their families grew and now she has 12 great-grandchildren who
all remained close to her.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers, and a sister. She is survived
by a sister, CarrieLee (Baker) West of Scottsburg, her son, Jeff (Wanda) Robbins of
Greenwood, daughter, Janet (Jim) Voll of Columbus, 4 grandchildren: Tiffany (Tony)
Barrett of Greenwood, Chanda (Kevin) Welsh of Columbus, Laura (Jon) Rupel of
Whiteland, and Chad (Jessica) Brodt of California. She has 12 great-grandchildren:
Taylor, Paige, and Parker Barrett, Sabrina Welsh, Sydney, Bradley, Matthew, and
Addison Rupel, and Matilda, Brooke, Daniella, and Kate Brodt, as well as a flock of
nieces and nephews that all loved her fiercely.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will be performed. In lieu of flowers, please
consider a donation to Hospice of South-Central Indiana, the Bartholomew County
Humane Society, or Riley Children’s Research Hospital.

I know Betty will be missed by so many. I pray for Jeff and Janet at the loss of their Mom. Their mom and dad are now back together.
Betty and Wallace were our neighbor’s from across the road. There will never be two kinder people. They are greatly missed. We wish everyone could have had a neighbor like them. Danny and Karen Nance
