Betty Louise Spurgeon

Betty Louise Spurgeon, 90, of 14th Street, died at 9:30 a.m. August 5, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor.
Betty was born September 18, 1928, in Columbus, the daughter of Charles and Louise Huenefeld Greene. She married Donald Spurgeon October 9, 1949.
She retired from the Bartholomew County Extension Office after many years of service and volunteered at Columbus Regional Hospital. Betty loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Larry Klebenow officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to Miller’s Merry Manor.
Survivors include her husband, Donald, sons, David (Monica) Spurgeon and Mark (Judy) Spurgeon; son-in-law, Carl Lienhoop; grandchildren, Hannah Spurgeon, Joshua Lienhoop, Daniel Lienhoop, Adam Lienhoop, Erin Spurgeon and Nathan Spurgeon; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Debbie Lienhoop; and a sister, Carolyn Hildreth.

I have such good memories of Betty. She was so kind and so funny. I’ll always cherish the memories I have of going to your house and making homemade ice cream and playing the piano and playing in the basement and so much more. God bless, Beth (Miller) Case.
