Betty R. McCord

Betty R. McCord, 86, of West Deaver Road, died at 5 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at her home. Betty was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Salem, the daughter of William T. and Mable T. Robinson Brewer. She married Stanley McCord on April 5, 1975. Betty was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Union Church. She was born and lived her early life in Salem, Indiana, but lived most of her life in Bartholomew County. Betty was previously employed at Salem Cabinet Factory, and was last employed as a cook at the Fiesta Restaurant. Memorial contributions may be made to Schneck Medical Center Hospice through the funeral home. Survivors include her husband, Stanley McCord of Columbus; sons, Donald (Debbie) Hobson of Medora, David Hobson of North Vernon; daughters, Marilyn (Jessie) Myers of Nashville; step-daughter, Terri Field of Ocala, Florida; a brother, Russell (Shelby) Brewer of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a sister, Rosetta (Kenny) McMahan of Brownstown; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Mable T. Robinson Brewer; sons, Charles, Boyd, Gary and Dale Hobson; a brother, Wayne Brewer; and sisters,Juanita, Carolyn and Marilyn Brewer.
